Why Nepal uses Lakh and Crore instead of Million and Billion
Nepal, like India, groups large numbers differently from the Western thousand/million/billion system. Instead of grouping every 3 digits, the Nepali numbering system groups the first 3 digits, then every 2 digits after that: 1 Lakh = 1,00,000 (100,000) and 1 Crore = 1,00,00,000 (10,000,000).
